GUS: Poland could lose 5 million workers by 2050
Marek Cierpiał-Wolan, president of the Central Statistical Office, warns that the number of working-age people in Poland could drop by 5 million by 2050. The head of the office calls for preventive action, including programs encouraging Poles living abroad to return home. In his view, Poland's wealth is primarily its people, and demographic decline threatens serious economic consequences.
