Construction workers cut Verizon cable, paralyze air traffic control in USA

On Monday, a construction crew in New Jersey accidentally cut a Verizon fiber optic cable serving FAA air traffic control systems. The outage hit airports on the U.S. East Coast, causing delays and cancellations of hundreds of flights. FAA head Bryan Bedford confirmed that the cable damage was discovered after the circuit failure.
