EU will require data centers to report energy and water use

The European Union proposed a sustainability labeling system for data centers, to precede the introduction of minimum performance standards. Operators will be required to disclose data on energy and water consumption. This is part of a broader EU policy aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of digital infrastructure.
