Autonomous plane to fly coast-to-coast across US for first time

An autonomous aircraft traveled 5,148 km from one US coast to the other without any intervention from a safety pilot on board. This is the first such flight in aviation history over such a long distance. The achievement is considered a breakthrough in autonomous aircraft systems.
