Sri Lanka: largest mass grave in island's history discovered — 572 victims
During construction work at a crematorium in northern Sri Lanka, a mass grave containing remains of 572 people, including children and infants, was discovered — the largest such find in the island's history. Personal items were found with the bodies: bracelets, a school backpack, and a milk bottle. The discovery may shed new light on crimes from a decade-long armed conflict.
