Qatar rules out pipeline bypassing Strait of Hormuz

Qatar rejected the possibility of building a pipeline that would bypass the Strait of Hormuz and allow it to export gas without using this strategic route. Doha deemed "completely mistaken" the opinion of US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent that the strait will soon lose significance. The Strait of Hormuz remains a key corridor for Middle Eastern energy exporters.
