Black holes of different sizes fire jets by the same rule
Scientists discovered that black holes—both supermassive and small ones in the Milky Way—launch powerful jets according to the same principle. The jet fires when the rate of matter consumption drops to about 2% of the so-called Eddington limit. In supermassive black holes, this occurs shortly after tearing apart a star, then again after hundreds or thousands of days.
