US and China establish AI dialogue mechanism ahead of Trump–Xi summit

The United States and China agreed during talks in New York to create a permanent dialogue mechanism on artificial intelligence, according to the Financial Times. The agreement was reached days before a planned meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping in Washington. The first talks in the new format are expected to take place in approximately two months.
