Volkswagen drops from Euro Stoxx 50 index after months of stock losses

Volkswagen has been removed from the prestigious pan-European stock index Euro Stoxx 50. Shares of the German automaker have fallen sharply in recent months, linked to planned mass layoffs across the group. It is another blow to the image of one of the world's largest car manufacturers.
