GUS: wages rose 5.6% in August, below forecast

The Central Statistical Office reported that average gross wages in the business sector reached 9,259.54 zł in August 2026, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%. Market consensus had expected higher growth of 6.6%. Employment in the sector fell 0.8% year-on-year, in line with forecasts.
