18 arrested in connection with Haiti president Jovenel Moïse's assassination

U.S. authorities announced the arrest of 18 people in connection with the killing of Haiti's president Jovenel Moïse, who was shot dead on July 7, 2021. The 53-year-old politician was killed at his private residence by a group of around 20 Colombian military-trained mercenaries. His security did not intervene during the attack.
