MeerKAT radio telescope detects hydrogen signal from 5 billion years ago

An international team of astronomers using the MeerKAT radio telescope detected exceptionally faint neutral hydrogen emission from approximately 5 billion years ago. This breakthrough reading allows study of early universe structure and galaxy formation processes. The discovery opens new possibilities for mapping large-scale cosmic structure.
