Life expectancy rebounds more slowly in countries with lower vaccination rates
Researchers found that life expectancy in many European countries is recovering very slowly after COVID-19, despite several years having passed since the pandemic ended. Countries with lower vaccination rates show slower recovery to baseline. Demographers point to the so-called harvesting effect — the pandemic may have accelerated deaths of those already seriously ill, temporarily inflating mortality statistics, which does not demonstrate harm from vaccines.
