Lawsuits filed to recover Nazi-looted artworks in LA museums and Auschwitz
Lawsuits have been filed in court over artworks looted by Nazis between 1933–1945 that ended up in museums in Los Angeles and Auschwitz. During this period, the Third Reich carried out the largest art theft in world history, confiscating over 600,000 objects belonging to Jewish families, collectors and cultural institutions across Europe. Heirs of the original owners are demanding the return of the stolen property.
