City guards gain authority to fine drivers at railway crossings and obstructing services
Under a regulation from the Interior and Administration Ministry dated 24 August 2026, effective 15 September, city guards can now issue fines for additional offense categories. New rules cover dangerous behavior at railway crossings: circumventing barriers, entering as they lower, or ignoring red lights. A driver also faces a fine for entering a crossing when there is no safe space on the other side to continue. The regulation expands the catalog of acts subject to fining without creating new offenses.
