Joke bank transfer descriptions may trigger tax authority attention
A lawyer educating online warns that entering a joking or thoughtless phrase in a bank transfer's description field may trigger automatic bank filters and interest from the tax authority. Banks scan transaction descriptions for suspicious keywords, which can be sent to the National Tax Administration for review. The risk is especially acute for transfers between friends, which with inadequate descriptions could be treated as unreported income.
