Rowers and kayakers will compete on crocodile-infested river at 2032 Olympics

Organizers of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and Queensland state authorities have confirmed that rowing and kayaking events will take place on the Fitzroy River, a natural crocodile habitat. The regatta course will be built near Rockhampton, about 600 km from Brisbane. The decision was made despite concerns about athlete safety and discussions regarding water currents.
