Key ITER component leaves factory: Europe moves closer to nuclear fusion
The last of five European sectors of the vacuum chamber for the ITER reactor — the world's largest tokamak under construction — has left an Italian factory. The delivery concludes a 15-year industrial project and opens the next phase of research into controlled nuclear fusion. ITER aims to enable generation of clean, safe and virtually unlimited energy.
