Trump threatens EU with tariffs over Canada association proposal

Donald Trump reacted angrily to a European Union proposal that Canada become its first "associated member" with closer cooperation in technology, defence and energy. The U.S. president called the idea "ridiculous" and threatened to impose tariffs or even completely sever trade with the EU if the plan is implemented.
