EU wants ban on social media accounts for children under 13

The European Commission plans to introduce common rules on minimum age for social media users — children under 13 would be banned from creating their own accounts, while younger teenagers could use them only under parental supervision. The regulations could cover not only TikTok or Instagram, but also games, video platforms and AI chatbots.
