UN report: exceeding 1.5°C threshold unavoidable within years
Scientists in the latest UN report state that the world will inevitably exceed the 1.5°C warming threshold relative to pre-industrial times within the coming years. Researchers warn that even temporary breach of this limit will cause serious and often irreversible climate consequences. One of the report's authors summed up the situation with the words: "There are no good scenarios."
