Melting Himalayan glaciers threaten water and food security of 2 billion people

A new report warns that the Himalayas are only entering a phase of accelerated glacier melting. Following initial floods caused by flowing water masses, Asia faces prolonged droughts. The water and food security of approximately two billion people inhabiting the region is at risk.
