Border Guard finds 34 migrants hidden in refrigerated truck on A2 highway

On 14 September, Border Guard officers stopped a Renault truck with Lithuanian plates on the A2 highway near Poznań. Hidden in a refrigerated compartment behind a specially prepared wall were 34 citizens of Pakistan, Egypt, Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia and Eritrea. The migrants hold documents requesting international protection filed in Latvia and will be handed over to the Lithuanian side as part of readmission. Questioning is underway with the drivers of both stopped vehicles.
