Magnolia blooms in Łódź in autumn as heat triggers dormant buds

Days before the autumnal equinox, a magnolia flowered in Łódź and primroses appeared in the garden of the University of Łódź's Biology Faculty. The unusual phenomenon results from exceptionally warm weather that activated dormant flower buds. It is a rare and surprising phenological anomaly for this time of year.
