Monument restored at Lublin Castle execution site
Conservation work was completed on a monument commemorating victims of German executions near Lublin Castle, where approximately 1800 people died during World War II. The monument and memorial plaque were laser-cleaned and impregnated, the base was repaired, and the surrounding area was tidied. The first execution took place on 23 December 1939, when 10 members of Lublin's intelligentsia were killed, including teachers and scholars from KUL.
