SETI wants to search for alien civilization traces in lunar regolith
A team led by Dr. Lewis Pinault from the SETI Institute proposes searching for technosignatures — particles created by technological activity — in lunar regolith. Scientists estimate that examining about 1 m³ of lunar material could provide valuable data. According to the authors, even an absence of alien civilization traces would constitute a valuable scientific result.
