ISW: Russia will not seize Donetsk region before 2032

The Institute for the Study of War assessed in its latest report that at Russia's current pace of advance, it will not capture all of Donetsk region before 2032—if it manages to do so at all. Analysts note that Russia has significantly slowed its rate of territorial gains. ISW points out that Ukrainian defensive operations are effectively slowing the Russian offensive on the eastern front.
