Drone attack on Petroline: Saudi Arabia halts oil supplies

Saudi Arabia temporarily halted shipments through the East-West pipeline (Petroline) after a drone attack that, according to Riyadh, came from Iraq and caused injuries and damage in the Riyadh and Medina provinces. The roughly 1200 km pipeline connects oil fields in the Persian Gulf with the port of Yanbu on the Red Sea and is a key export route, particularly important after restrictions on navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Authorities did not say who was responsible for the attack or when the pipeline would return to full operation.
