China aims for 70 percent of new cars to be electric or hybrid by 2030
Beijing set a target that seven out of ten new cars sold in China in 2030 will belong to the NEV category—electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. The government plan assumes continued purchase subsidies for such cars, but also stricter factory controls to limit inefficient production.
