Mary Gaudron, first woman on Australia's High Court, dies at 83
Mary Gaudron, a lawyer and pioneer of Australian justice, died at age 83. In 1987, at 44, she became the first woman to sit on the High Court of Australia, serving until 2003. She was known as an advocate for equality and women's rights in the workplace.
