Australian MPs seek ban on weapons exports used to violate human rights

A group of independent Australian MPs, including David Pocock and Sophie Scamps, introduced a bill banning exports of Australian defense equipment, technology and services when they could breach international human rights obligations. The rules would cover F-35 fighter parts supplied to Israel, among others. The initiative aims to pressure the Albanese government.
