FSB takes control of more Russian state areas with Putin's approval
Russia's Federal Security Service is systematically expanding its authority — its approval or opposition is increasingly required in decisions involving science, telecommunications, critical infrastructure, economy and elections. This does not mean the FSB has seized power, but rather reflects Putin's deliberate policy of defining ever more areas of state life as national security matters.
