Wood pellet prices surge 30 percent, government considers cutting boiler subsidies
Wood pellet prices have recently risen 30 percent, with unofficial forecasts suggesting possible increases to 4,000 zloty per ton. Agnieszka Kędziora-Urbanowicz, vice president of the Polish Pellet Council, warns against burning grain and seeds in pellet-adapted boilers, which could damage equipment. The government plans to reduce subsidies for pellet boilers and change fuel quality standards.
