Scientists find way to breach pancreatic cancer's protective shield

Researchers discovered that blocking the IL1RAP protein disrupts the inflammatory network that allows pancreatic cancer to survive treatment. In preclinical studies, the method reduced the number of tumor-protecting cells and limited fibrosis, while activating T lymphocytes that fight cancer. This could improve the effectiveness of chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
