LG acknowledges some charges it spied through Smart TVs

Gamers Nexus found that LG Smart TVs scanned home networks and recorded and transcribed room conversations even when the screen was off. LG responded to the allegations — confirming some and rejecting others. The ACR (Automatic Content Recognition) mechanism identifies viewed content and sends ad data to partners; many companies use it, not just LG.
