AstraZeneca cancer drug fails key clinical trial

AstraZeneca said camizestrant, a breast cancer drug, did not outperform standard therapy in the SERENA-4 trial, which tested it as a first-line treatment for advanced ER+/HER2- tumors. The drug will not reach a significantly broader market, though it previously received accelerated FDA approval for the narrower indication of patients developing drug-resistant mutations.
