Feather in 66-million-year-old dinosaur droppings explains bird survival

A feather from an extinct bird has been found in fossilized dinosaur droppings from 66 million years ago. It had a primitive, insulating structure, suggesting that more advanced plumage helped ancestors of modern birds survive the "impact winter" after the asteroid strike.
