China unveils Hualong One 2.0 reactor with 66% safety improvement
At the CGN 2026 conference in Shenzhen, China presented a third-generation-plus nuclear reactor called Hualong One 2.0. The new technology introduces comprehensive optimization of 14 safety system components, representing a 66 percent improvement over the previous version. It marks another step in China's development of civilian nuclear energy.
