Russia sends four warships to Mediterranean, NATO monitors convoy

On August 27, four Russian warships entered the Mediterranean through Gibraltar, including sanctioned cargo units and a tanker escorted by a destroyer. NATO is tracking this convoy, called the "Syrian Express". This marks the end of the first break in Russian naval presence in the Mediterranean since 2013.
