UK House of Lords votes to require cryptocurrency regulation strategy

Britain's House of Lords voted 194 to 138 in favor of an amendment to the Financial Services Act requiring the government to develop, publish and consult on a national strategy for regulating digital assets. The amendment was tabled by Conservative baroness Neville-Rolfe; her supporters from the Conservative Party and Liberal Democrats defeated a unified Labour Party block. The document is to cover both regulations and development of digital financial market infrastructure in the United Kingdom.
