Radioactive package in Żurowa near Tarnów: waiting for PAA decision

A suspicious package wrapped in black film was discovered in Żurowa near Tarnów (Małopolskie province) and showed elevated radiation levels on rescue service meters. Firefighters and police were called to the scene and secured the area. Captain Hubert Ciepły, spokesperson for the Małopolskie Provincial Fire Service Commander, stated that services are awaiting a decision from the National Atomic Energy Agency.
