Five years have passed since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan. The country faces a deepening humanitarian crisis, women have been stripped of nearly all rights, and rulers must contend with threats from the Islamic State, rebellious governors and strained relations with Pakistan. Afghanistan has yet to know peace.
