Hundreds of asylum seekers sent to France from UK missing, including children
Human rights organizations warn that hundreds of asylum seekers returned from Britain to France under a "one-for-one" program have disappeared without trace. Among the missing are at least 41 children whose age was disputed. The program, announced in July 2025 by Prime Minister Starmer and President Macron, mandates the forced return of one asylum seeker by boat to France in exchange for the legal arrival of another from France to Britain.
