"Bank employee" scam: woman loses 80,000 zł, couple detained
At the end of August, an unknown person called a woman, posing as a bank employee and claiming her savings were at risk. The victim handed over a total of 80,000 zł to two couriers — a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both Ukrainian citizens. Police from Otwock detained the couple in Żyrardów; officers found a laptop and a debit card issued in another person's name at their location. The prosecutor requested pre-trial detention, and the court granted it.
