First tunnel on China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway completed in Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan has completed construction of the first tunnel on a railway linking China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The new transport corridor is intended to shorten delivery times for goods to Europe and reduce dependence on Russian transit routes. The investment is one of Central Asia's key transport initiatives.
