US to spend $62M on AI for heart failure with FDA approval

ARPA-H announced it will allocate $62.7 million to the ADVOCATE program, which aims to create semi-autonomous AI systems for heart failure treatment approved by the FDA. The AI will assess symptom severity, prescribe medications and order lab tests. Initial grants of $33.7 million went to Atman Health, UpDoc and Tempus AI and teams from Stanford University, Duke and Kaiser Permanente system.
