BESIII physicists have strong evidence for existence of gluonium
Gluonium is a hypothetical particle made up solely of gluons — carriers of the strong nuclear force. The BESIII experiment team in Beijing presented some of the strongest evidence to date for its existence. The key clue turned out to be not an observed decay, but its absence — an unseen decay channel that theory does not predict for gluonium.
