Russia and North Korea opened first permanent road bridge on shared border

The Russia-North Korea border now has its first permanent road bridge, which both sides call a "new symbol of friendship". Previously the countries were connected only by air, rail and temporary crossings. The investment reflects closer ties since 2022, when both countries signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with a mutual military assistance clause.
