Fake tickets from CANARD: scammers extort data and money
Scammers are sending out fake correspondence impersonating the General Inspectorate of Road Transport (GITD) and the CANARD system, claiming traffic violations. Messages arrive via SMS, email and traditional mail, often with a link for quick payment. Genuine CANARD correspondence comes only through Poczta Polska or the CANARD eBOK system and is never a fine outright — the first document only serves to establish the facts.
