EU allocates 3.5 billion dollars for Patriot missiles for Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced an agreement among EU states on a derogation allowing Ukraine to purchase key components for Patriot air defense systems. The next aid tranche will be 3.5 billion dollars. This is one of the largest military aid packages for Ukrainian air defense to date.
